Where Brotherhood Meets Redemption

Inside the walls of California’s most iconic prison, a century-old baseball program is uniting men, rebuilding lives, and proving that hope still has a home.

California Dept. of Correction's

CDCR’s oldest and most enduring rehabilitative program.

Built on discipline, teamwork, and transformation. Baseball teaches more than how to win—it teaches how to rise after a loss.

  • A school of character

  • A test of patience and grit

  • A place where racial lines blur, and teammates become brothers

  • A model for unity in one of the most divided environments on earth

More Than A Game

The Oldest Rehabilitation Program in California Corrections.

Founded in the 1920s, the San Quentin Baseball Program is more than just a pastime—it’s a brotherhood that has spanned generations. As CDCR’s oldest rehabilitative initiative, this program has offered thousands of incarcerated men the chance to heal, to grow, and to lead with purpose.

“On this field, we’re not inmates—we’re teammates. We’re men trying to be better than we were yesterday.”
